The ladies of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” also known as “RHONJ,” are still in limbo, waiting to hear if they will be returning to the popular series. Reports suggest that Andy Cohen, Bravo, and the production company are taking their time with the casting decision, as the current cast members are fan favorites and have left their mark on the show.
The network is reportedly keeping in touch with Dolores Catania, Melissa Gorga, and the original housewife, Teresa Giudice. These women are considered key players in the success of the show and are likely to be offered contracts for the upcoming season.

‘RHONJ’ Cast Has Reportedly Not Heard Anything Regarding The Show

A report from OK Magazine about the status of “RHONJ” went viral the week of February 16, 2025.
As fans eagerly await the announcement of the official cast for the next season of “RHONJ,” speculation continues to swirl about who will be returning and who may be saying goodbye to the franchise. For now, the leading ladies of New Jersey will have to bide their time until a final decision is made.
However, according to Us Weekly, sources close to the production company are arguing that the earlier reports are not true.
“All of them have been in contact with production, but not with any news,” a source shared. “There’s still an open line of communication but no news on who is coming back or who is not coming back.”
The source also shared that Bravo wants the show to return to the air and is toying with ways to “see how they can make it work.”

Bravo Is ‘Stalling’ On The Next Season Of ‘RHONJ’

The insider also shared that the network is “stalling” regarding the next season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
In addition to Catania, Gorga, and Giudice, the show’s current cast features Jennifer Aydin, Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, and Danielle Cabral.
Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler are also part of the cast in a limited capacity, appearing as a “friend of the show.”
During the most recent batch of episodes, which finished airing in August 2024, viewers saw the group split in half due to the incessant arguing between sisters Gorga and Giudice.
And it didn’t end there, either. Housewives Aydin and Cabral had a physical altercation, while husbands Joe Gorga and Luis Ruelas almost had a physical fight, too.

Vicki Gunvalson Reacts To News Of Potential New Cast
Although it’s now said to be false, “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Vicki Gunvalson shared an interesting perspective about the “RHONJ” casting rumors.
During an episode of her podcast, “My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast,” Gunvalson seemingly echoed what many fans have said and shared that she doesn’t want to see a new cast for “Jersey.”
“I like seeing the same cast members over and over and over again,” she said before admitting watching fights between the same people can get repetitive.
However, the Bravo veteran said it’s “hard” to bring in new cast members because most watchers want to see the people they’re familiar with.

“It’s hard for me to want to jump into a whole new cast like ‘New York,'” she said. “I have no desire to watch them. I have no idea who they are [or] what they are. I know nothing about it.”
Gunvalson’s comment about “The Real Housewives of New York” refers to the network rebooting the show with an entirely new cast following its problematic 13th season, which featured stars like Ramona Singer, Eboni K. Williams, and Leah McSweeney.
Catania Is Furious With Her ‘RHONJ’ Cast Mates
Since the ladies of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” were placed on pause following their rocky 14th season, they’ve remained on standby, waiting for news about whether they’d be asked to return.
During an earlier interview about the show’s fate, Catania, who joined the series in its seventh season, said she would’ve liked to have seen her friends for season 15, but they “couldn’t get it together.”
Catania continued, “I’m a little mad [at them]. I really am.”

Catania Spoke To A Therapist Before Filming Final Scenes

During the season 14 finale episode, there was a massive blowup between cast members that resulted in broken dishes and another near-physical brawl between Aydin and Cabral.
Catania revealed that she spoke to her therapist before the meeting to gather helpful strategies for keeping the peace; however, despite her best efforts, nothing seemed to work.
“I wrote it down in the car ride on the way there. And no matter what I did on and off camera, nothing helped. You could see I was defeated. I sat there, and I knew you wouldn’t be seeing us for a while; I saw it coming,” she said.
