Joe Jonas’ post-divorce solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, seemingly has the approval of his ex-wife, Sophie Turner.
“Go go @joejonas,” Turner, 29, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 24, sharing a Spotify link to the record.
Jonas, 35, released his second solo LP on Friday, May 23, featuring many songs about his new normal since he and Turner separated in 2023.
Jonas shared with Billboard in August 2024 that delving into his personal relationship through his music was both intimidating and liberating. He clarified that his intent was not to attack anyone in his songs but rather to express his happiness and the journey he took to achieve it.
Reflecting on a period of significant personal growth, Jonas explained how he navigated various life changes while also grappling with the scrutiny that comes with being part of the music industry. During this tumultuous time, he found solace and expression through his music, which served as a creative outlet.
Us Weekly reported in September 2023 that the Jonas Brothers star officially filed for divorce from Turner after being married for four years. The former couple engaged in discussions and negotiations regarding the custody of their daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, who hold citizenship in both the United States and Turner’s home country of England.
Jonas and the Game of Thrones alum eventually reached a settlement in September 2024, agreeing to share custody.
“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the U.K.,” the now-exes told Us in a joint statement at the time. “We look forward to being great coparents.”
While Jonas has remained relatively quiet about the breakup and resulting custody battle, Turner called the situation “incredibly sad” in a Harper’s Bazaar profile.
“We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard,” she recalled last year. “I’m so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family. I was away for so long — six years — and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant. I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, ‘I never got to touch your belly.’ We didn’t have those key experiences with each other.”
Throughout most of their marriage, Turner lived with Jonas in both Los Angeles and Miami.
