‘Southern Charm’ Star Austen Kroll Says He And Madison LeCroy Have Fun “Roasting” Themselves This Season: “We Make Each Other Laugh A Lot”

If you would have asked us four years ago whether Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy would be meeting up for drinks and gossip, we’d probably laugh in your face. Yet, here they are, years after their final breakup and each happily in different relationships, doing just that.

Kroll, who dated LeCroy on and off from 2018 to 2020, recently stopped by DECIDER’s studios, where he teased that Southern Charm Season 10 will “definitely” feature more of their playful friendship.

“Madison and I are able to meet up now for drinks and such and laugh and gossip. It’s almost like maybe we should’ve been this way the whole time. But maybe we had to go through what we went through to get to this point,” he said, referring to their turbulent relationship.

“We know each other, so we’re able to meet up and have some sort of empathy for one another,” Kroll further explained. “We just make each other laugh a lot, so it’s definitely nice to have that sort of relationship. I think it’s something completely different than fans have seen in the past.”

Kroll is hopeful that the “funny stuff” between him and his ex-girlfriend gets shown this season. “There’s a scene or two where I’m crying laughing because we’re just roasting ourselves. It’s nice,” he added. “It’s a different dynamic, finally, that I think the fans will actually appreciate seeing rather than us arguing.

The Trop Hop founder said LeCroy was even one of the first people to call him after their nemesis, JT Thomas, unexpectedly resigned from Southern Charm before the Season 10 premiere.

“Madison called me and she said, ‘Christmas came early!’ And that’s for certain,” Kroll said. “Christmas came early.”

Thomas and Kroll infamously got into a physical altercation in the Season 9 finale — and Thomas, still reeling from getting rejected by Taylor Ann Green, performed the first “f-boy exorcism” on his co-star at the reunion.

Looking back, Kroll said Thomas — who joined the show in Season 9 — “had no business” being on Southern Charm.

“He was an outsider from day one. He was obsessed with me,” he said. “I hate to say that because it sounds like a narcissistic thing, but he clearly was. He was so hyper-focused on me. He said horrible, awful things to and about me, and it was all a projection of his own self.”

While Kroll and Thomas’ friendship might be on the rocks, we sure are glad he’s gotten to a good place with LeCroy!

Southern Charm airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
