Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner were spotted spending Thanksgiving together – and it was all for a good cause!
The formerly married couple teamed up to help feed the unhoused community with charity organization Midnight Mission on Thursday, November 28.
Affleck and Garner, aged 52, along with other celebrities like Sarah Paulson, 49, were seen in photos shared on social media. They were all seen smiling as they wore hair nets and prepared to lend a hand.
Garner and Affleck, who were married from 2005 to 2018, were joined by their three kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, who also gave up their time to help those less fortunate.
The Midnight Mission was thankful for the support from Garner and Affleck and shared gratitude via its official Instagram page.
“Today, we were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us at The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving! Their kindness, warmth, and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community,” the post’s caption read.
“Thank you, Ben and Jennifer, for serving meals and sharing smiles on this special day. Your compassion reminds us all of the true meaning of Thanksgiving—coming together to support one another.”
Affleck and Garner share an amicable relationship following their split nearly a decade ago. The actress has been supportive during some of Affleck’s most turbulent times, including his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez, 55.
“Ben and Jennifer are friends, and they have a great coparenting relationship,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in August.
The pair have a “mutual understanding that their kids come first,” the insider noted, adding that the exes “also get along really well.”
The insider added that the former couple’s amicable relationship and shared history was helpful as Affleck navigated through his split with Lopez.
“There’s a deep level of trust and respect between them,” the source explained, adding that Affleck “has confided in Jen in a lot of ways.”
The insider continued, “Especially lately when things with J.Lo haven’t been so great in recent months.”
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August after two years of marriage and months of swirling break-up rumors.
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer listed the date of separation as April 26, which was three months before she and Affleck celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.
One of the most talked-about Hollywood couples of the twenty-first century, Affleck and Lopez started dating in 2002, meeting on the set of Gigli.
The couple ultimately called off their eventual engagement in 2004 and, after a few marriages and divorces between them, reunited two decades later in 2021. Following their reunion, Affleck proposed for a second time in April 2022 while Lopez was taking a bubble bath. They eloped three months later in Las Vegas.
After their Vegas wedding, Lopez and Affleck had a larger ceremony several months later in August 2022.
