Billy Ray Cyrus briefly found love again with singer Firerose following his split from longtime partner Tish Cyrus.
The couple first met as collaborators. Their joint project was a song called “New Day” released in July 2021, which they performed on various talk shows.
In an interview with Main Street Nashville in August 2021, Firerose described the song as a message of hope for those seeking a fresh start. She expressed, “It is a song of hope for a new day for any single human who is searching, reaching, and praying for a new day. Here we are with this promise of a new day that we were all just praying for. We’re all ready to turn the page. I hope that the song that we wrote together can bring a glimmer of joy to peoples’ days even if it is not completely yet a new day for everyone.”
During their collaboration, Billy Ray was still married to Tish. The couple had been together since 1993 and have five children: Miley Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus, Trace Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, and Noah Cyrus. Despite facing challenges over the years, including separations and reconciliations, they officially ended their marriage in April 2022. Court documents reported by Us Weekly revealed that Tish stated they had not lived together since February 2020.
Tish moved on with now-husband Dominic Purcell while Billy Ray got engaged to Firerose. Billy Ray and Firerose got married in October 2023, but their marriage was over less than a year later.
News broke in June 2024 that Billy Ray filed for an annulment, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason for the split.
