Many couples from Bachelor Nation struggle to stay together after the show ends, but the original Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, appears to have found lasting happiness with her husband, Ryan Sutter.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in 2020, Trista shared her mindset going into the experience, emphasizing the importance of giving it her all for it to succeed. She believes that being genuine, vulnerable, and true to oneself is crucial for the show’s leads and contestants to form a genuine connection.
Trista, previously a physical therapist, and Ryan, a firefighter, have always stayed authentic to themselves. They got engaged on the show’s finale in 2003, followed by a televised wedding a year later. Today, Trista and Ryan have two children and continue to prioritize their relationship.
“We’ve had our bumps in the road, just like anyone else, but it’s really about staying focused on each other and dedicating time to each other,” Trista said on the Today show in 2015.
