Barron Trump is touted for NBA career as the New York Knicks are urged to sign Donald's 6'7 son

A day after his father Donald was inaugurated as president, Barron Trump has surprisingly been tipped for a career in the NBA with the New York Knicks.

Barron, 18, has grown to be 6-foot-7 and towered over the other attendees as his father took the Oval Office for a second time.

And comedian and lifelong Knicks fan Michael Rapaport thinks his squad should give Barron a shot on the court.

‘With Big Body Barron,’ he’s that dude, Rapaport said in a video posted to X. ‘Big Body’s gonna do good things in this world.’

‘I was thinking while Big Body was up there, standing in the back, hulking – the Knicks should sign him to a 10-day [contract], see what he’s got,’ Rapaport added.

‘[Knicks center] Mitch Robinson ain’t coming back anytime soon, you never know. You need another big man in the post. He looks like he’s got a soft touch.’

Barron, who attended  Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School for high school, is not believed to have a background in basketball.

His father also shot down the idea of him playing football during an interview in 2019, saying he would have a ‘hard time’ letting his son partake in the sport.

‘I just don’t like the reports that I see coming out having to do with football – I mean, it’s a dangerous sport and I think it’s really tough,’ Trump told CBS’ Face the Nation.

‘I thought the equipment would get better, and it has. The helmets have gotten far better, but it hasn’t solved the problem.’

Contrarily, Barron has played soccer, with highlights of him on the pitch going viral.

In fact, when Wayne Rooney was the coach of DC United during Trump’s first term in office, the Manchester United legend briefly met with Barron after the Commander-in-Chief asked him to offer some soccer advice to his teenage son.

Barron, who was around 12 at the time, is a soccer fan and had reportedly played for DC’s youth team.

‘He asked me to give his son football lessons,’ Rooney said on The Overlap.

‘(Barron) said: ‘Do you want to see my dad?’ He took me up into the Oval office and then from there, his PA was just texting: ‘Do you want to play a few holes?”

However, the most promising athlete in the family seems to be Barron’s niece Kai, the 17-year-old daughter of Donald Jr. who has has committed to play golf collegiately at the University of Miami.

She has won the ladies club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and has played with some of the biggest stars in the game.

Kai credited the former (and incoming) president for helping her achieve her collegiate goal when announcing her commitment to the University of Miami.

‘I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support,’ she said.

‘I would also like to thank my entire family for always encouraging and pushing me to be the best person I can possibly be. I would like to thank my friends for always cheering me on,’ she continued.

For now, Barron has a new business venture to focus on, as he’s launching his own luxury real estate company with two similarly youthful business partners.

Newsweek first reported the incorporation of Trump, Fulcher & Roxburgh Capital Inc. in Wyoming last July.

The company was dissolved after just four months following Trump’s 2024 election win.

Cameron Roxburgh, one of the business’s co-founders, said the pause was to avoid any election-related media attention as they sought to launch their venture.

The company will focus on high-end properties and golf course projects in the western states of Utah, Arizona and Idaho.
