The ‘It’s a little bit funny’

This particular joke involves choosing a gushy love song for a text exchange with a partner.

Most pranksters choose Elton John’s timeless classic “Your Song”, since its conversational lyrics lend themselves to hilarious jokes so well.

The prank works best if you can work the lyrics of the song into an existing conversation.

To enact the prank, simply message the first line of the song to your partner.

Then, send the next line each time they reply.

For example:

You: It’s a little bit funny

Them: What’s funny?

You: This feeling inside

Them: What feeling?

You: I’m not one of those who can easily hide

Them: What are you talking about? Are you okay?

You: I don’t have much money, but boy, if I did. I’d buy a big house where we both could live

When the time comes to let your partner off the hook, simply say: “April fools!”

The ‘Who is this?!’

For this prank, you’ll need to wait for someone to text you.

Then, when you receive a message, simply pretend that you don’t know them.

Whatever the message is, simply reply: “Who is this?”

When they say their name, reply back with: “Who?”

Before they get too frustrated, text them saying “April Fools!”

The Facebook Post

For this one, you will need to hide your number.

There are several ways to do this, but the best way is to go into your phone settings where you can disable your caller ID.

Send your friend a peculiar message such as “Just spotted your Facebook post about zebras for sale – I’m intrigued! How much are you asking for them?”

The ‘thanks for signing up for Cat Facts!’

This prank will also require you to block your number.

It will involve pretending to be a fact subscription service, such as a “Cat facts.”

To begin, consider sending a text like this: “Thank you for subscribing to Cat Facts! You will now get delightful daily facts about CATS! >o<”

Depending on the nature of your friend, they might not respond.

Regardless of their response, begin sending them interesting cat facts, for instance, “Did you know that cats rely on their tails for balance and that they have close to 30 separate bones in them?”

Next up, give them an option to cancel, or continue their ‘membership’ with another text, by saying: “Would you like to receive a Cat Fact every hour? “

Whatever they respond, send them another message saying: “Command not recognised”.

Make sure you get at least a couple of Cat Facts in there, before informing them that it is in fact an April Fool’s joke.

The ‘You had one job!’

Everyone’s  had that sinking feeling after making an unintentional mistake at work and botching things up royally.

Text a co-worker you’re chummy with for this April Fools’ text prank.

Keep them on the edge of their seat guessing, building upon the “mistake” without actually telling them what you did.

You: “I’m so fired.

Them: “Oh no! What happened?”

You: “I had one job. ONE job and totally blew it.”

Them: “lol ONE job! Wait? For real? What did you do?”

You: “A little voice inside me kept telling me it wasn’t right, but I did it anyway and now I’m toast.”

You: “What am I going to do? Should I tell the boss?”

Them: “Tell me what you did first!”

You: “Maybe I can cover my tracks. Ughh agony!”

Them: “Out with it. What on Earth did you do???”

Then, when the moment of truth comes, simply say: “April Fools”
