The country music duo Florida Georgia Line, consisting of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, found immense success in the music industry. Nonetheless, their relationship faced challenges despite their professional accomplishments.
In 2010, Hubbard and Kelley formed their band and gained widespread popularity with their hit single “Cruise” in 2012. Over the following years, they released four studio albums until 2019. However, in 2020, tensions arose when Tyler and his wife, Hayley Hubbard, decided to unfollow Brian, leading to speculation among fans that their differing political views caused a rift. Tyler and Hayley openly supported Kamala Harris, while Brian, who is married to Brittney Kelley, criticized Joe Biden supporters.
The two men addressed the social media drama in a joint interview on SiriusXM’s Exit 209.
Tyler explained the situation in an interview with Storme Warren, sharing that he temporarily unfollowed Brian on social media due to their contrasting political opinions during the intense atmosphere of the election. Despite the unfollowing, Tyler reassured Brian that their bond transcended their disagreements. He conveyed his love for Brian, acknowledging that their differences did not diminish their brotherly connection, but he opted to avoid the political content on Brian’s social media feed.
While they went on to release their fifth studio album, Life Rolls On, in 2021, the musicians hinted at a hiatus in 2022, launching solo careers. Brian clarified at the time that they are “not going their separate ways” but rather taking a “break.” However, months later, he hinted that there were no plans for the twosome to work together after wrapping their summer 2022 tour.
