WHITE House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has addressed the 32-year age gap between her and her husband, Nicholas Riccio.

Donald Trump’s press secretary opened up about her marriage in a rare instance in a recent interview on the Megyn Kelly Show.

Riccio, a real estate tycoon, and Leavitt got engaged in December 2023 and gave birth to their first son, Niko, in July 2024.

Leavitt shared in a recent Instagram update that they tied the knot on January 4, 2025, at a small country club ceremony in their home state of New Hampshire.

During a podcast episode aired on February 21, Leavitt informed Kelly that she was introduced to Riccio by a friend when she was campaigning for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022.

“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” she said.

“I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.”

When Kelly asked if she had been wary about the 32 years in between them, Leavitt responded “Of course.”

“I mean it’s a very atypical love story but he’s incredible,” she gushed.

“He’s the father of my child and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for.”

She added Riccio is supportive during a “very chaotic period of life” as Leavitt has been busy with Trump starting his second presidency.

“I say, ‘I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board,” she said.

She opened up to Kelly about how she balances motherhood and being the youngest press secretary to ever work in the White House.

Additionally, Leavitt discussed her university years and recounted how she kickstarted her professional journey by submitting an application for an internship during the initial years of Trump’s presidency.

She said her job is “all-encompassing” and “exhausting” but that she enjoys working for Trump.
