The city’s mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, announced in a press statement the upcoming event, although there had been hints in previous reports.

Mayor Brugnaro mentioned that they were working closely with the organizers to ensure the event would be respectful of the city’s fragility and uniqueness. The Daily Mail reported his statement.

“The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded.”

He reassured the citizens that the wedding would not disrupt city activities significantly, emphasizing that their top priority was to maintain normal functioning within the city.

While speaking, Brugnaro revealed that the couple invited only 200 guests to their wedding. However, he did not share any details about the date or exact location.

The outlet also claimed that prominent figures like former President Donald Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey are also rumored to be on the guest list due to their close ties with the groom.

Meanwhile, TMZ dished that Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Gayle King, Kris Jenner, and Kim Kardashian would also be seen at the highly exclusive ceremony.

The upcoming nuptials have been described as a “highly exclusive” and “tightly-coordinated celebration” in a local report, per the Daily Mail.

Two of the city’s most exclusive hotels—the legendary Gritti Palace and the seven-star Aman Venice—have also been booked out from June 26-29, dates now widely believed to mark the wedding festivities.

Interestingly, some sources have also claimed that Bezos’ $500 million yacht, Koru, will be “involved” in the celebration—possibly to take guests on excursions during the festivities.

It has also been rumored that Oscar de la Renta will design Sanchez’s wedding gown after working with the soon-to-be bride on her outfit for last year’s Met Gala.

The couple is also said to have chosen Venice as their wedding location due to their “shared history” with the coastal city.
