Victoria Beckham is sharing behind-the-scenes details about Nicole Brydon Bloom’s wedding dress.
The fashion designer, 50, shared her excitement on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, March 18, to extend her congratulations to Bloom on her recent wedding to actor Justin Theroux on Saturday, March 15. Bloom, 30, looked stunning in a custom-made Victoria Beckham gown for the special day. Interestingly, Bloom’s new husband is close friends with Victoria’s retired soccer star spouse, David Beckham.
Victoria expressed her joy by posting a photo of Bloom in her wedding dress, saying, “Congratulations Nicole on your beautiful wedding to Justin!” She went on to add, “Designing your gown was such an honor and it was incredible to see it come to life on your special day! All my love to you both. Kisses, Victoria x.”
Furthermore, Victoria delighted her followers by sharing more glimpses of Bloom from the wedding day. She described the intricacies of the gown, mentioning, “Crafted from French Chantilly lace, Nicole’s gown was adorned with over 400 hand-cut hand-stitched flowers,” accompanied by a picture of Bloom beaming at the camera. Victoria also highlighted the beauty of the crepe de chine slip worn under the gown, embellished with delicate appliqué lace blossoms.
The fashion mogul also shared a behind-the-scenes video showing her applying the hand-stitched flowers to the gown with safety pins and cutting the delicate lace fabric.
In an interview with Vogue published on Monday, March 17, Bloom and Theroux, 53, revealed that they tied the knot Saturday at Hotel Esencia in Xpu Há, southeastern Mexico.
Bloom revealed that Victoria offered to make her wedding dress during a couples’ weekend with their respective partners last December.
“On a weekend upstate with some friends, Victoria Beckham sweetly asked what I was planning to wear,” she shared with the outlet. “Justin has known David for many years, and we met Victoria last summer. In December, we had a couples’ weekend upstate with David, Victoria, and our close friends Zanna and Rassi — their twins were our flower girls!”
“I showed her a few of my options and she suddenly, and hilariously, started describing what she envisioned for my gown — something more ethereal, flowy, and light for the sand, with tulle and soft flowers — it sounded like a dream,” Bloom explained.
“I have always adored Victoria’s style and her vision was exactly what I was hoping for so when she so generously offered to make my dress, I was so grateful and overjoyed,” Bloom added. “The dress was perfect — elegant and timeless while also youthful and just a little sexy.”
Bloom also wore a custom pink Victoria Beckham slip to a bonfire party she and Theroux threw for their guests ahead of the wedding. “It felt so light and elegant on the beach,” Bloom said.
