Warwick Davis Is Suing For Medical Negligence
Following the death of his wife, Samantha, in March 2024, Warwick is now suing a London hospital he believes is responsible for her tragic demise.
According to the Daily Mail, the actor has sought assistance from law firm Irwin Mitchell and expert solicitor Madeline Nugent. They will explore the potential of medical negligence, which the 54-year-old believes led to his wife’s passing.
Samantha first became unwell with sepsis in 2019 after undergoing decompression surgery on her spine at University College London Hospital.
The sepsis ailment then led to intensive care treatment, which the actress ultimately did not survive.

An Inquest Into His Wife’s Death Was Adjourned
To further investigate the circumstances of Samantha’s death, an inquest was recently held at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court.
However, just before any evidence could be presented, the counsel for Warwick’s family, William Chapman, moved for an adjournment due to the availability of the actor.
The actor was supposed to connect remotely for the inquest but faced technical issues on his end, which could not be resolved.
In making his plea, Chapman argued that the hearing should be adjourned, as the absence of the actor would mean he could not follow the inquest process or contribute fully to it.
In response, Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin agreed with the request, saying she believed the actor “most likely would like to be part of this inquest process.”

She added, “At the next hearing, I will make sure there is nothing in my diary that day… I will give it a full day when I relist [the inquest].”
Chapman also asked the court to hold the inquest remotely again when a new date is set “as quickly as possible.”
