Police are searching for witnesses after a man allegedly stabbed, physically assaulted and dragged a woman along a footpath in the Northern Territory on Tuesday.
Residents reported blood found on the pavement outside an office building on Bagot Street in The Gap in Alice Springs at 10.45am.

Authorities examined the security camera footage and witnessed a man reportedly attacking the woman with a weapon and repeatedly harming her at 4.45 am.

The victim was allegedly dragged from the area by the offender towards Tuncks Road.

“Investigations have commenced and police hold concerns for the welfare of the victim,” a spokesperson said.

The man is described as being shirtless, wearing black shorts, black shoes and a light-coloured hat.

The woman was dressed in a light-colored long-sleeved sweater, light-colored trousers, light-colored shoes, and had her hair styled in either a bun or ponytail.
