Aaron Desira Biography
Who is Aaron Desira ?
A young and skeptical father of the Covid vaccine who spent eight days in a coma after contracting the virus has urged others not to repeat their mistake and to receive the vaccine as soon as possible.
Melbourne’s father, Aaron Desira, had to learn to walk and feed again after battling the deadly virus for two weeks in hospital.
Desira, from Werribee, in the southwest of the city, spent more than a week in an induced coma after testing positive for the virus on September 23.
Melbourne Dad Aaron Desira was placed in an induced coma
The father of two, who has two young children, said he felt the first symptoms while working in Bendigo, in the Victoria region, on September 22.
He drove home, got tested, and isolated himself while waiting for his results.
He tested positive the next day, just two days before he was signed up for his first dose of the Covid vaccine.wikipedia
The father said his symptoms began as similar to those of a cold before turning into hot sweats, a severe headache and increased shortness of breath.
She became incoherent three days later, on September 26, and was rushed to Geelong Hospital.
“I was there for one night on oxygen and then they made the call that they were going to intubate me, they put me in an induced coma,” he told The Geelong Advertiser.
“So I was in a coma for eight days,” he said, adding that his condition worsened very suddenly.
Desira’s wife, Lisa, and her two children Isaiah, 11, and Harper, 9, also contracted the virus.
Health
He said that while he was confident that he would recover from the virus, his family was extremely concerned about his health and that it was ‘too much’ for his wife, and his father stepped in to help with calls to doctors.
Once he woke up from the coma, he was transferred from the ICU to the Covid ward of the hospital, where he had to learn to walk again and feed himself.
On Monday, Desira was able to walk unaided out of the hospital, a goal he had set for himself when he began his recovery.
Prime Minister Daniel Andrews made it mandatory
Now the self-confessed ‘non-believer’ is encouraging others to take their hits from Covid ASAP.
‘It affects everyone differently, so don’t think that because you’re young and fit you’re going to get ahead … Two of my colleagues got infected at the same time, one was not vaccinated and just had symptoms similar to those of the flu, the other one was I got vaccinated and I had severe flu-like symptoms, and then I was basically knocking on death’s door, ‘he said.wikipedia
At first he was hesitant about the vaccine, but he decided to roll up his sleeves when Victoria’s Prime Minister Daniel Andrews made it mandatory for construction workers.
