Domestic dispute leaves 24-year-old man wounded.
Police identified the federal prison officer who shot his son while trying to break into his home in northwest Miami-Dade County.
Atoya Holmes, 44, wounded Lance McCoy, 24, around 10 a.m., said Miami-Dade Police Detective Argemis Colome.
Neighbors said McCoy had been fighting with his stepfather, Arthur Holmes, 45.
Colome said officers found McCoy with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
