                                               Gabe Eltaeb Biography

Who is Gabe Eltaeb ?

A colorist who helps produce DC’s Superman comics says he will resign over the decision to make the Man of Steel bis*xual and because of a change in the iconic comic’s patriotic catchphrase.

Gabe Eltaeb is a comic book artist who colored Dark Horse’s Star Wars comic series, as well as Star Wars: The Assassination of Darth Vader and Star Wars: Rebel Heist.

Gabe Eltaeb announced that he would resign his position on a YouTube livestream with fellow former DC Comics worker Ethan Van Sciver on October 13.

The outgoing colorist, who says he will fulfill his contract with DC before he leaves, said on the podcast ‘I’m tired of this shit’ in response to the decision to make the Man of Steel bis*xual.wikipedia

Eltaeb also called the company’s decision to remove Superman’s old catchphrase ‘truth, justice and the American way’ in favor of ‘truth, justice and a better tomorrow’ as fucking nonsense. ‘

Eltaeb expressed his anger at the change of the old slogan ‘Truth, justice and the American way!’

‘I am ending my contract with DC. I’m tired of this shit, ‘Eltaeb said during the podcast, according to Bounding Into Comics.

‘I’m tired of these characters being ruined; they have no right to do this. ‘

He then expressed his anger at the change from DC’s catchphrase for the 83-year-old superhero to ‘Truth, justice and a better tomorrow.’

“What really pissed me off was speaking truth, justice and a better world,” he added. ‘F ** k that was Truth, Justice and the American way.’

“My grandfather almost died in World War II; We have no right to destroy the shit that people died to give us. It’s a bunch of damn nonsense. ‘

Eltaeb ended his spiel on the ‘bigoted’ behavior of companies like DC Comics favoring modern, savvy voices over those of traditional conservative media.

‘They call us fanatics and racists and shit, I would ask them, find me in the fucking mainstream, not on the fringes, a fucking book, a fucking T-shirt, a movie that says leftism is bad, and conservatism is good, find it for Me, they are not, they are not letting people have a voice, they are the f * Damn fans, ” he said.

“I’m sorry, that has been suppressed for five years,” he added at the end of his spiel.

In response to Eltaeb’s appearance, Van Sciver described the former colorist’s ‘agenda’ and what was going on after he left DC Comics.

“Gabe just blew up on my live stream,” Van Sciver said. “He had a lot to say, a lot of feelings and a lot of thoughts that he couldn’t share because he was working for DC Comics.”

And that is the reality. You can’t go out there and be conservative and criticize the company you work for like this. ‘

“You have to fully support the corporate agenda, whatever it is.”

“You have to keep your critical or negative opinions to yourself, and it’s very liberating to be able to not work for the DC comics and to be able to say exactly what you think.

And I think that’s what Gabe is going through here.

Eltaeb also later posted a video of his own explaining why he left DC Comics.

“ And I regret not having said anything before, we are going to face these tyrants and we are not going to let them intimidate us, there are many more of us than there are of them. ” he said.

The decision to change the classic motto and s*xuality of the beloved superhero sparked a mixed reaction from comic book fans.

The company recently announced that current Earth Superman Jon Kent (Clark and Lois Lane’s son) would come out as bis*xual and start dating a refugee ‘hacktivist’ reporter.

Jon Kent had previously appeared as Superboy, but has now graduated to follow in his father’s footsteps.

The change will come in a November issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El.

The series, which debuted in July, has seen the legendary superhero take a much more alert stance than previous versions of the character.

Instead of sinister supervillains, Jon deals with several hot topics, including high school shootings, climate change, and the deportation of refugees, all of whom are a world away from the old-school evil he once had. the Man of Steel fought.

Former Superman actor Dean Cain criticized the new moves as “going to the car.”

“They said it’s a bold new direction … I say they are joining in,” Cain said in his on-air interview. ‘Robin, from Batman and Robin, just came out bi or gay recently and honestly, who’s really surprised by that? I had some thoughts about it a long time ago.

Cain also took aim at these issues, insisting that DC Comics could have done much more to highlight the impact of ‘real evil in the world’ such as human trafficking, women’s rights in Afghanistan, or corruption.

“Brave would make him fight for gay rights in Iran, where they will kick you out of a building for the crime of being gay,” he said.

‘They’re talking about him fighting real-world issues like climate change and deporting refugees and he’s going to date a’ hacktivist ‘, whatever a’ hacktivist ‘is, I don’t know.

‘Why don’t they fight the injustices they created to the refugees whose deportation they are protesting? It would be brave, he had read it. Or fight for the rights of women to attend school and have the ability to work and live, and that children are not raped by men under the new warm and fuzzy Taliban. That would be brave.

‘There is real evil in this world today, real corruption and government overreach, many things to fight against. Human trafficking, real real slavery … it would be brave to address those issues, shed light on those issues. I’d like to see the character doing that. I read that comic. ‘

Statement

Also, the next Superman movie is rumored to be starring a black Superman for the first time.

J.J. Abrams would produce the project, and Hollywood Reporter insiders said Warner Bros. and DC were committed to hiring a black director.

Flash movie producer Barbara Muschietti also hinted that Cavill’s Superman might be appearing in the 2022 movie via an Instagram comment with ‘likes’.

When a fan commented that they expected to see a ‘cameo from #henrycavillsuperman’ Muschietti as the comment, as seen in a Twitter video obtained by The Flash Film News.

In a statement from DC, they had announced that the company was ‘evolving’, possibly in reference to the new changes.

“ To better reflect the stories we tell across DC and honor Superman’s incredible legacy of more than 80 years of building a better world, Superman’s motto is evolving, ” said DC Creative Director Jim Lee at the DC FanDome fan event on Saturday.

“Superman has long been a symbol of hope that inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that drives him to move forward with this new mission statement.”

The superhero’s backstory is as American as it gets: a boy raised in Kansas by two farmers wearing a costume in shades of red and blue that nod to the American flag.

Clark Kent-centric movie

The last time a Clark Kent-centric movie made it to the big screen was 2013’s Man Of Steel with Henry Cavill playing the title character.

He also appeared as Superman in the 2017 Justice League and the 2021 Extended Cut: Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

A nod to his American identity, in Justice League his character even says, ‘I’m from Kansas. He’s as American as he looks, ‘but Snyder said he had to fight to hold the line in the film as he struggled to portray’ that perfect blend of Americana. ‘

Fans are ripped apart by the new tagline, with some being proud of the superhero’s new tagline and suggesting that ‘the American Way’ is not as ‘American’ as people think, while others criticize the notion that Superman is anything but. U.S.

One fan wrote: ‘I’m a fan of #Superman’s new tagline:’ Truth, justice and a better tomorrow. ‘ It fits the character very well, it sounds shocking and hopeful. In general, I think it’s something that a lot of people might hear. ”

Another fan wrote encouragingly: ‘Superman doesn’t fight exclusively for America. He fighting for a better tomorrow is a better motto. He’s not America’s man, he’s for everyone. ‘

Twitter

The iconic superhero is known around the world, but others criticize DC Comics for making ‘America’ the problem.

‘An American icon, raised in America by American parents, created by a couple of Americans for an American comic book publisher. But ‘American style’ is a problem, ” wrote one critic on Twitter.

Others questioned whether fighting ‘the American way’ was worth fighting, even from Superman. And that the new motto goes beyond making Superman a fighter for everyone.

“The central narrative of Superman has been and continues to be the values and belief that America’s experience is strong and good enough to address the issues facing the generation committed to the character.”

“It has always been the best immigrant story,” added comic book writer Mark Waid.
