Sam Thompson wasn’t the only one jumping for joy as he was crowned King of The Jungle last night (Dec 10) as the 23rd series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! reached it’s finale. His girlfriend Zara McDermott and his family were all clapping and shouting at the news too.

The sweet moment was shared on Zara’s Instagram, which sees Sam Thompson’s family fill a living room as they keep their eyes glued to the TV screen. As soon as the announcement was made, they all jump up and throw their hands up in the air.

The proud girlfriend wrote: “The moment we all found out… OUR KING OF THE JUNGLE!!!!!!!” Plenty of people rushed to share their reactions in the comment section, with In The Style CEO Adam Frisby replying: “Ahhhh honestly what a guy!! He’s been such a pleasure to watch, not a bad bone in that guys body and such a deserving winner!! Well done Sam.”

Stueyarmfield said: “This makes me want to cry.” Squashedpickle added: ” … and I’m crying again! So well deserved Sam! Also Pete crying was so cute!” M eganeve17 admitted: “I was literally crying no one deserved it more than.”

However, one fan quizzed Zara on why she wasn’t in Australia to congratulate the new ‘King’ in person. “How come Pete went there and not you?” Deano184 asked. Another fan, Amberclarkhome, said: “Because of her contract with Strictly.”

Last week, Zara explained why she wouldn’t be heading to Australia to greet Sam. During an episode of popular podcast show Saving Grace, she said: “Sam ,bless him, thought I was still going to be in Strictly; he had high hopes for me.

“‘Cos obviously the final, I think, is a similar day to the Strictly final and you need to go out there two weeks before. So he had high hopes that I’d still be in the show, so he had already asked Pete and Pete’s flights were booked and he was signed up.”

However, Sam wasn’t alone as his best mate Pete Wicks flew out to meet him at the finish line. Zara joked: “Pete’s got a nice all inclusive two week stay at the Versace hotel.”

Reacting to the news he won this year’s I’m A Celeb, Sam struggled to contain his emotions as he told viewers: “I’m so grateful, thank you so much. You just made a boy’s dream come true.” The Made In Chelsea star, 31, beat Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage to win the show.

Speaking to hosting duo ant and Dec, he added: “I never knew I could be as happy as I am right now, it’s been magical. It’s like a dream I don’t want you to wake me up from. I got asked for my down moments in there and I don’t know, even the moments I felt low I was like ‘I am feeling low in the jungle’. There were so many amazing people I never thought I would get to spend time with.”
