For those who were wondering what the physical condition of Antonio Brown‘s ankle is, the wide receiver himself has revealed whether he will undergo surgery to return to the NFL.

Since his controversial departure from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the league’s 2021 season, Brown has not had surgery and will not do so unless a team gives him assurances that he will play in the 2022 season.

“I need to get my ankle fixed, but I just want to make sure I got an obligation or a commitment from a team, it’s a lot for a guy to go do surgery without an idea of where you gonna work, or who you going to work for,” Brown told TMZ.

Brown still has football to give the NFL

AB, despite his foray into music with rapper Kanye West, is not ready to end his gridiron career, saying he still has plenty left to do in football.

“I’m a player first, I couldn’t even be in this position without being a football player. So I never want to take that for granted. I would love to continue my career. I got a lot of game left in me,” Brown said.

Even the former Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots star doesn’t understand how many other players receive million-dollar contracts and no team pays him those figures, although he accepts that he is happy about other wide receivers’ deals.

“I still feel like I can put up big numbers, and I see what these guys are getting paid. I just wonder why my value isn’t being upheld as the same.

“I’m happy for those guys. I’m really grateful for those guys who pioneered the game. They take it further, and made their prices go up. So I’m grateful for those guys to get what they deserve,” Antonio said.

AB sends message to teams interested in signing him

Finally, Brown sends a message to NFL teams that may be interested in signing him for the 2022 season.

“Watch the tape. It’s not what the articles they sell. It’s what I’m willing to do and what I’m capable of doing. I put my heart on the line, I put my will on the line, I put my skills on the line. I’m the best go in the stadium every week.”
