"England Goalkeeper Mary Earps Joins Puma in Multi-Year Deal, Leaving Adidas for New Brand Opportunity"

England goalkeeper Mary Earps has signed a multi-year contract with kit manufacturer Puma after deciding to leave Adidas.

Earps, who won the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award for the second consecutive year in January, attracted interest from various brands. However, Mail Sport has learned that Puma presented the most compelling offer.

Puma has a strong history of supporting goalkeepers, with Earps’ fellow England teammates Ellie Roebuck and Khiara Keating also being contracted by the brand. Additionally, Puma sponsors Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson.

Goalkeepers in the women’s game have historically found it harder to secure lucrative brand deals, but Puma are committed to supporting the position.

England’s goalkeeper, Mary Earps, has recently inked a multi-year deal with Puma, a sports apparel manufacturer. She made the decision to part ways with Adidas and join forces with Puma, as depicted in the image above.

Earps has been seen wearing Puma clothing and goalkeeper gloves in Manchester United and England training sessions and an official announcement is expected in the coming days

Earps, who was England’s Player of the Year for 2023, was in the spotlight during the World Cup when Nike refused to sell her goalkeeper shirt for commercial reasons.

The 31-year-old called the decision ‘hugely hurtful’ and revealed she had offered to fund the shirts herself.

After a huge backlash from fans and a petition which garnered over 170,000 signatures, Nike u-turned on their original decision and put Earps’ shirt on sale after the tournament.

The kit sold out in record time in October before a second batch was made available in December, which also sold out rapidly.

The Football Association also confirmed that fans will be able to buy the new England Women goalkeeper kit, which was released last month, when it goes on sale in the summer.

Barcelona and Spain forward Salma Paralluelo moved from Adidas to Nike while England defender Millie Bright and Scotland midfielder Erin Cuthbert are also understood to have made the same switch.
