A housing developer has acquired a site in Yorkshire where it aims to build 227 new homes.

Crest Nicholson has promised “a mix of private and affordable housing” in the market town of Elland, Calderdale. It says 20 per cent of the homes will be “affordable”.

Work is anticipated to start in late 2024, with the first residents expected in the summer of 2025. The acquisition of a 20-acre site will be the housebuilder’s biggest community in Yorkshire. The site will also be located near to the proposed new rail station for Elland.

Guy Evans, Managing Director at Crest Nicholson Yorkshire said: “We are pleased to announce our newest and largest site acquisition in Yorkshire, continuing our mission to deliver high-quality homes in Yorkshire.

“With work anticipated to start late 2024, the development will have a strong, positive effect on the wider Elland community, providing new jobs, infrastructure and most importantly, much needed high quality homes for local people.”
