This morning, the three main contenders for the top job on Brisbane City Council each shared Instagram posts in a final bid for votes.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner posted a group photo with LNP candidates in what looks like Victoria Park/Barrambin – a patch of land that drew its own headlines during the campaign.
Tracey Price posed with supporters at a polling booth in the ward of McDowall on Brisbane’s northside, asking voters to “help elect a Council that will restore essential services to the suburbs”.
And Jonathan Sriranganathan posted a short video touting the housing, transport and environmental policies that have been a centrepiece of the Greens campaign.
If Instagram likes were votes, the Greens would be in the lead – Sriranganathan’s video had 925 likes versus Price’s 56 and Schrinner’s 126 at the time of writing.
