LIVE: Lazio vs Bayern Munich

18′ The Lazio players are asking for a penalty after Milinkovic-Savic appeared to be tripped by Boateng on the edge of the box as he touched it onto Immobile. VAR is having a look at it but spotted the midfielder was offside in the build-up, so it’s only a free-kick to Bayern.

17′ Bayern break quickly when they win the ball back, with Lewandowski leading the attack down the left. He pulls it back from the byline for Sane at the near post, who goes for the backheel, but he can’t flick his effort on target.

15′ Lazio are keeping the ball better when they move out of their half now and are starting to move it upfield quicker. It’s switched out to Lazzari on the left this time, but he can’t find a way past Sule.

13′ Leiva gets his head up and spots Immobile pulling away from his defender on the left so switches play out to him. He brings it down well with his first touch, only for the offside flag to go up against him.

11′ Bayern are still dominating possession and although Lazio are closing them down high upfield, the hosts just can’t get a touch on the ball. It’s patient build-up from Bayern though as they play it out from the back to open up space.

9′ BAYERN LEAD! It’s a poor backpass from Musacchio and Reina rushes off his line but can’t get there. Lewandowski is alert to intercept it and takes it around the keeper before slotting it into the back of the empty net. 1-0 Bayern!

8′ It’s a great run from Sule into the box from right-back and he drifts past three Lazio defenders to get to the byline. He pulls it back for Lewandowski in the middle, but it’s an important block by Milinkovic-Savic.

6′ Lazio just can’t get out of their own half at the moment as Bayern continue to push forward. Sane and Musiala try to create some space on the right, but they just can’t get into the final third.

4′ Marusic intercepts Goretzka’s pass on the left and he sets Lazio off on the counter, linking up well with Correa ahead of him. He rides a challenge from Davies, but then can’t find any space to get a cross in.

2′ Bayern have made a bright start to the game and are putting Lazio under some early pressure. Kimmich swings a corner in which is cleared by Acerbi to Davies on the edge of the box, but it’s blocked by Milinkovic-Savic.

1′ Musiala gets the game underway for Bayern!

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.

Lazio are in the knockout phase of the Champions League for the first time in 21 years (1999-00), the longest-ever gap between two appearances for the same club in the latter stages of the competition.

Hansi Flick makes two changes to his team after their loss to Frankfurt as he brings in Goretzka and Musiala. Roca and Choupo-Moting start on the bench, which is made up of just six substitutes.

Simone Inzaghi makes just one change to the side that beat Sampdoria at the weekend. Lazzari comes into the starting line-up for Lulic, who drops to the bench.

BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Marc Roca, Bouna Sarr, Javi Martinez, Lucas Hernandez, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

BAYERN MUNICH STARTING XI (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; Niklas Sule, Jerome Boateng, David Alaba, Alphonso Davies; Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka; Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman; Robert Lewandowski.

Lazio finished behind Borussia Dortmund in their group to qualify for the knockout rounds. They’ve lost just two of their last 10 in all competitions (W8) and are on a seven-match winning run at home.
