Man, 30, arrested for allegedly shooting another man near Coors Field

DENVER — A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting another man near Coors Field Wednesday night.

The Denver Police Department reported that officers responded to a call about shots being fired in the 2100 block of Market Street at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man who had been shot in the hand.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Denver police.

With the assistance of witnesses, investigators were able to identify Dennis Armstrong, 30, as the suspected shooter. Armstrong was apprehended following the incident as he tried to flee and allegedly made threats to another individual.

Armstrong is currently in custody under suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, felony menacing, and illegal discharge of a firearm. The final decision on the charges will be made by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
