We’re tracking some heavy rain for all of Northeast Ohio this weekend.
Cleveland is under a Flood Watch for most of Northeast Ohio starting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday and ending at 8 a.m. on Sunday. The National Weather Service in Cleveland warns of multiple rounds of showers and storms causing heavy rainfall in the region.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” according to the NWS.
3News Senior Meteorologist Matt Wintz says we’re expecting anywhere from 3-6 inches of rain areawide.
“This weekend is going to be doozy in terms of rainfall amounts,” he said.

According to Wintz from the National Weather Service, there is a significant amount of rain expected, and it will impact various rivers and streams across Ohio. The rainfall will not be limited to just one area but will affect the entire state, including Northeast Ohio.

The wet weather began with strong storms Wednesday into Thursday. But plenty more is coming this weekend.
“A real good round of rain arriving Friday night into Saturday morning,” Wintz says. “Could have some flooding problems Saturday morning.”
The rain continues Saturday into Sunday as well.
