Police: Altercation between employees escalates to shooting at Arvada Big O Tires

ARVADA, Colo. — An altercation between two employees escalated to a shooting inside an Arvada Big O Tires location Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. at the Big O Tires located at 7425 W 52nd Avenue.

According to the Arvada Police Department, a physical altercation took place between two employees in the service area. The situation escalated when one of the employees drew a firearm and fired at the other employee, hitting him in the torso.

The suspect took off while the victim ran to a nearby medical business, according to Arvada police. The victim was then taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Shooting reported at Big O Tires on W. 52nd Ave. in Arvada, police investigating

Officers located the suspect at his Arvada home near Kipling Street and West 72nd Avenue around 5 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident, according to Arvada PD.

The department did not identify the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
