A plane crash in Middle Tennessee has hospitalized several people, with some flown to surrounding hospitals.
A plane crash in Middle Tennessee has occurred, resulting in multiple individuals being hospitalized on Sunday afternoon, as confirmed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Reports from NBC affiliate WSMV indicated that the THP was providing assistance to Tullahoma first responders following the crash of the plane on Old Shelbyville Road in Coffee County. The THP disclosed that approximately 16 to 20 individuals were aboard the aircraft, with numerous individuals being airlifted by medical helicopters to nearby hospitals.
Subsequently, the THP updated the situation stating that Tullahoma authorities had documented a total of six injuries, three of which were airlifted to local hospitals by medical helicopters. Additional individuals were assessed at the crash site, with officials urging motorists to avoid the vicinity to facilitate the operations of emergency crews.
“This remains an active and developing situation,” THP said. “Tullahoma first responders and Coffee County EMS are leading response efforts.”Â
