LeBron James' youngest son Bryce commits to University of Arizona for 2025 season

The 17-year-old made the announcement on his Instagram account Wednesday.

TUCSON, Ariz — The 17-year-old son of LeBron James has committed to play basketball at the University of Arizona in 2025.

Bryce James announced his commitment to U of A on his Instagram account Wednesday.

The announcement came more than a month after he posted a picture of himself in a U of A jacket. 


His father had a quick response to the news.

“CONGRATULATIONS MAXIMUS!!,” LeBron James posted. “SO PROUD OF YOU!!”

The youngest son of the NBA superstar. Bryce James is 6’6″.

The U of A men’s basketball team finished the 2023-2024 season 27-9. 

James is the second player in Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd’s 2025 recruiting class, joining five-star prospect Dwayne Aristode.

Bryce James is set to follow in his father LeBron’s footsteps by playing Division I basketball, becoming the second son of LeBron to do so. His older brother, Bronny James, opted to turn professional after a single season at USC. Bronny was subsequently selected to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, making history as the first father-son duo to compete together in an NBA game.
