DELAND, Fla. – City officials in DeLand reported that an intersection in the area has been partially closed due to a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday. The incident resulted in a fire hydrant being broken and causing damage to the road.
The crash involved a pickup truck towing a lawn trailer and an SUV, and it took place at the intersection of Woodland Boulevard and Beresford Avenue at approximately 9 a.m., as stated in a news release.
As a result of the accident, the fire hydrant sustained damage, leading to significant harm to the southbound lanes of the Woodland Boulevard-Beresford Avenue intersection. This section of the road will remain closed until further notice as repairs are carried out.

Officials said there is also a boil water notice for nearby businesses, but didn’t specify a precise area.
According to the release, DeLand officials are working with the Florida Department of Transportation, Volusia County and Duke Energy to get the intersection open as quickly as possible.
