Commerce City, Colo. law enforcement officials detained a 43-year-old individual after a chase that occurred late on Monday, upon discovering that he had reportedly confined his ex-girlfriend and physically harmed her over multiple days, as reported by the Commerce City Police Department.
Jason Pacheco was incarcerated in the Adams County Jail on multiple counts, which include aggravated felony menacing with a weapon, false imprisonment, and evading law enforcement in a vehicle.
Upon receiving a call from the victim, authorities were initially dispatched to address a violation of the protection order at the 9000 block of E. 108th Avenue earlier the same day.
While on scene, officers learned that the woman was held captive against her will, a news release stated.
Police said officers located the suspect in a vehicle near the residence where the alleged days-long attack had occurred, but he fled in his car.
Due to the severity of his offenses, authorities said they pursued him until his vehicle was disabled in the 5800 block of Interstate 25.
Police said Pacheco then fled on foot but was tracked down by an Adams County Sheriff’s Office K9 and arrested.
