Cuyahoga County corrections officer arrested, accused of bringing drugs into county jail

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department arrested a corrections officer on Monday for allegedly smuggling drugs into the county jail, according to reports.

Although the officer’s identity has not been disclosed, authorities have revealed that she is facing charges of drug trafficking and illegally bringing narcotics into a detention facility. She is currently detained at the Geauga County Jail.

In a statement, Cuyahoga County Sheriff Harold Pretel stressed the department’s grave stance on such misconduct, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards any staff member who breaks the law or undermines the integrity of the Corrections Center. The Sheriff expressed the commitment to maintaining a healthy, safe, and drug-free environment for all individuals associated with the facility.
