The company confirmed that diesel fuel was erroneously delivered to the wrong underground storage tank.
In Avon, Ohio, customers who visited the Avon Circle K gas station on Chester Road on Sunday, Jan. 19, and had their cars damaged after refueling, are facing repair bills in the thousands of dollars.
Today, a spokesperson from Circle K confirmed that a gas delivery “mistake” was responsible for the damage to the customers’ cars.

They also said they are currently working with 14 customers who’s cars were damaged by the error.
The statement from Circle K assured customers of the quality of their fuels but acknowledged that issues can occur. They encouraged affected customers to report problems promptly. The company expressed regret for any inconveniences caused and assured customers of their commitment to assist in resolving claims.
According to a Circle K spokesperson, the company will reimburse customers for repair costs once claims are reviewed and validated. Customers suspecting damage to their vehicles from this incident can contact customer service at 1-855-276-1947 to file a claim for reimbursement.
Pumps were shut down after the error was discovered. Circle K said the fuel has been replaced and the pumps have been reopened.
