Evacuations in progress as firefighters combat brush fires in Palm Bay

PALM BAY, Fla. – Precautionary evacuations are underway as first responders work to contain two separate brush fires within the city.

According to Palm Bay police, a fire located in the southwest corner of Babcock Street and Malabar Road is 100% contained.

The second fire is near the railroad tracks behind Onyx Drive NE. Fire Rescue crews are actively working to achieve full containment.

As a precautionary measure, homes in the vicinity of Onyx Drive are being evacuated to ensure the safety of residents.

Authorities are urging those in the area to follow evacuation orders and stay tuned for further updates.
