In Osceola County, Florida, a tragic single-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 4 early Saturday, resulting in the death of a woman who was ejected from the vehicle. The crash also caused serious injuries to three other individuals, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 2:55 a.m. along eastbound I-4 at mile marker 64, troopers said.
According to the crash report provided by the FHP, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata with four people aboard was traveling eastbound on the inside lane of I-4. The driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons that remain unknown, causing the Hyundai to veer off the road to the right and overturn multiple times.
Tragically, one of the passengers seated in the rear left side of the sedan, a 20-year-old woman from Orlando, was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by the troopers.
The sedan’s three other occupants — a 24-year-old man driving with a 20-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man riding as passengers, all of Orlando — suffered serious injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital, according to the report.
None of the sedan’s occupants were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred, the report states.
FHP is still investigating.
