CLEVELAND — What a difference a month makes! Now that November is over, let’s talk about some of the weather stats from last month.
There was a significant shift in temperatures from the beginning to the end of the month. From November 1 to 23, it was the warmest period recorded for that time frame. During this period, there were three days where temperatures reached the 70s, with one day tying a daily record at 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Leading up to November 23, Cleveland Hopkins Airport was experiencing temperatures 5.7 degrees above the average for that time of year.
Starting Nov. 24, temperatures took a nosedive for the rest of the month. The average high from Nov. 24-30 was just 37.7 degrees, and the 30th only hit 28. That’s a 50-degree high temperature swing from the first week of the month to the last day.
Even with the cold finish to the month, November as a whole came in 3.7 degrees above average. That’s the most above average month in the area since May.
Precipitation was not super abundant, with just under 3 inches recorded. Throughout the later part of the month, Hopkins managed 1.1 inches of snow.
Keep in mind, many areas of the snowbelt east of Cleveland came in with significantly higher totals.
