Westlake's Hayden Grove eliminated from NBC's 'The Voice' in battle round

In a scenario reminiscent of Dean Martin, Hayden engaged in a performance of ‘My Funny Valentine’ in a duet but was unsuccessful against Lucia Flores-Wiseman and did not receive any support from the coaches.

CLEVELAND — The journey ended earlier than we had hoped, but Hayden Grove still made us all proud.

On Monday, the 31-year-old singer from Westlake was officially eliminated from the television show “The Voice” after falling short in the heated battle rounds where teammates compete against each other. Despite delivering a moving rendition of “My Funny Valentine” in a duet, Hayden was outshined by Lucia Flores-Wiseman, and none of the coaches chose to save him.

Initially gaining recognition as a social media reporter for 3News’ partner Cleveland.com (a position he still maintains), Hayden has now established himself as one of the most well-known singers in Cleveland’s music scene, captivating audiences at various venues throughout the area with his skill. His performance of “Mack the Knife” during the blind auditions for “The Voice” impressed Adam Levine, the frontman of Maroon 5, who turned his chair and added Hayden to his team.

Monday’s show marked Hayden’s first appearance on the show since that first impression, with his outfit paying tribute to the legendary Dean Martin. After Hayden and Lucia teamed up for “My Funny Valentine,” Levin praised both (particularly lauding Hayden for his “simplicity”) before ultimately selecting Lucia for the knockout stage.

While we’re sad to see Hayden’s time on “The Voice” end, we can’t wait to see where his singing takes him next!
