'Baby Driver' actor Hudson Meek dead at 16

WASHINGTON — Hudson Meek, a child actor who appeared in Edgar Wright’s “Baby Driver,” died on Dec. 21 at age 16, his family announced.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hudson Meek. Although he was only 16 years old, he made a remarkable impact on all those he encountered during his time on earth,” a message was shared on his Instagram profile.

According to AL.com, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Meek was critically injured on the night of Thursday, Dec. 19 when he fell from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. His death remains under investigation.

His obituary explained that Meek “was an organ donor, and his family is comforted by knowing that he will continue to help others for years to come.”

In 2017’s “Baby Driver,” Meek played the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s Baby. According to IMBD, he also appeared in NBC’s “Found,” the “Macgyver” reboot, along with several voice acting roles. Hudson and his brother, Tucker Meek, also appeared in the 2014 Lifetime movie “The Santa Con.”

“He worked on several major motion pictures and television shows, some of which will be released in 2025,” his obituary noted. “He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew.”

J Pervis Talent Agency, who represented Hudson, wrote on Instagram: “Hudson was an extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry. Over the past 10 years, he contributed so much to the spirit of our agency and his loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us.”
