List of 34 upcoming Walmart stores in Florida that will showcase innovative features.

New Walmart “Stores of the Future” are in the works nationwide — including several in the Sunshine State, according to the company.

In a release last week, Walmart officials announced that one of these new store formats was opened in Cypress, Texas.

But it’s not going to stop there, as corporate leadership has announced plans to bring these new stores into Florida.

According to the retailer, these new store concepts will bring updated features for guests, including the following:

• Pharmacies: Many pharmacies placed near the front of the store offer private screening rooms and privacy checkouts

• Vision Centers: Expanded assortments of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses, plus prescription options

• Activated Corners: Novel displays at shelf corners to let customers interact with items or visualize how furniture may look in their homes

• Digital Touchpoints: New digital touchpoints throughout the store give guests more information about certain products and services

• More Room: Layouts feature more space to help customers move through and explore the store

• Dollar Shops: A new dollar shop hosts seasonally-relevant products at “Every Day Low Prices”

• Grab & Go: A “Grab & Go” section gives customers the ability to grab a wrap, sandwich or cold drink

Last year, Walmart announced its intention to renovate 650 stores and construct or transform more than 150 other locations to showcase the new “Store of the Future” concept.

According to TCPalm, some of these upgrades will be happening in Florida. However, a spokesperson clarified that these stores will remain open for business throughout the renovation process.
