3 wanted fugitives arrested in Ohio amid separate murder cases: See where they were captured

One of the cases dates back to September 2024 when a body was found in a burned-out car in Cleveland.

Three fugitives were apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Ohio this week, with one arrest taking place in Maple Heights, as all three were wanted in connection with different murder cases.

Here’s a breakdown of each case and associated arrest…

ANTHONY ORTIZ: 28 years old

On Sept. 28, 2024, officers in Cleveland responded to the 800 block of East 134th Street for a burned-out vehicle.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle with a body inside.

Ortiz was identified as a suspect in connection with the incident and a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the U.S. Marshals.

He was arrested May 7 in Maple Heights at a residence in the 5400 block of Hollywood Avenue.

JAYLIN TYLER: 20 years old

The incident that led to one of the arrests occurred on January 6 at the Boulder Creek Apartments in response to a report of gunshots by officers from the Toledo Police Department near Arlington and South Byrne.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 18-year-old Derrick Rogers dead with gunshot wounds.

A press release from the U.S. Marshals revealed that Tyler was subsequently linked to the fatal shooting, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant against him.

He was arrested this week on May 6 at a residence in the 5100 block of Secor Road in Toledo.

QUINTERIOUS PARKER: 23 years old

This case dates back a few weeks to April 12, when 28-year-old Frenicka Craig was shot and killed at a park in the 2900 block of Dauphin Street in Mobile, Alabama.

Authorities say five people have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting — including Parker. He was captured Thursday at a hotel in the 11000 block of Milan Road in Milan, Ohio.

“Each and every day, members of our task force pursue wanted, dangerous fugitives,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said. “This week, in three consecutive days and in three different cities in northern Ohio, our task force was investigating and arresting fugitives wanted for violent offenses.”
