CLEVELAND — A shelter-in-place order has been issued across Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland following reports of an “armed individual” inside one of the residential dorm halls on campus.
According to an alert from the school, witnesses reported seeing the person with a gun inside Michelson House on Carlton Road. Minutes after the alert was issued, authorities confirmed an “intruder” had been detained and that that person is “unaffiliated with the university.”
At this time, all buildings on the south side of campus remain locked down, with some being cleared for safety reasons. The shelter-in-place order is still in effect — those indoors should remain where they are while those outdoors are asked to use their CWRU IDs to get into buildings away from the south side.
