COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Zanesville man who they say escaped from the county jail Saturday evening.
At 5:09 p.m., Wayne Pletcher, aged 37, managed to flee from the jail, as reported by the sheriff’s office. It is suspected that he dashed onto 4th Street, situated just outside the detention center, with the aid of a woman.
Pletcher is characterized as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds, sporting the name “Victoria” inked on the right side of his neck and full-sleeve tattoos on both arms. He was last spotted in a tan shirt and pants.
Pletcher was being held on several felony charges, including tampering with evidence and an issuance of a warrant upon failure to appear.
The sheriff’s office said there were no injuries connected to the escape.
