Authorities in Colorado Springs, Colo., reported that a 25-year-old man suspected of being involved in a shooting incident that left six individuals injured in the city surrendered to law enforcement.
The incident happened Saturday night on Potter Drive near Mitchell High School.
Emergency responders transported four of the victims to the hospital by ambulance, while the remaining two individuals sought medical care on their own. The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that five of the injured are in stable condition, with one person listed as critical.
Law enforcement officials stated that the shooting stemmed from a dispute that quickly escalated. Upon investigating the scene, authorities discovered numerous shell casings and indications of multiple firearms being involved in the incident, with evidence spread across an extensive area spanning hundreds of yards.
In an update, Colorado Springs PD said Deomni Myers, 25, turned himself in to police on Sunday in connection with the shooting. He was arrested for attempted first-degree murder.
