A teenager in New Smyrna Beach, Florida was taken into custody by the police for being in possession of a gun at Flagler Avenue, as reported by the New Smyrna Beach Police Department.
Officers said a fight broke out among several juveniles and police found the firearm.
Officers were patrolling the area due to a large influx of teenagers on President’s Day.
During the previous spring break, similar troubling events occurred. A 16-year-old was charged as an adult for brandishing a gun within a spring break crowd, while an 18-year-old was discovered carrying a pistol.
The law enforcement officials are issuing a warning to parents and young individuals as spring break approaches. They emphasize a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of violence or weapon-related incidents. Those found participating in criminal behavior will be subjected to severe repercussions.
