Loveland teen arrested on suspicion of intentionally starting a house fire, police say

In Loveland, Colorado, a 16-year-old was taken into custody by the Loveland Police Department on suspicion of deliberately setting a house ablaze close to Big Barnes Ditch, as announced on Thursday, March 27.

The incident took place near W. 8th St. and E. Kelly Drive on Thursday, March 20, but fortunately, the fire was quickly put out. There were no reported injuries, but the property sustained significant damage, according to Loveland PD.

Following the arrest, the teenager was brought to the Loveland police station for questioning, during which detectives discovered potential links to other questionable activities that had occurred the day before.

Loveland PD is asking anyone living near Big Barnes Ditch if they saw any unusual activity on Wednesday, March 19, around 1 p.m. Officers suspect there was an attempt to start other fires that day, as well as other concerning behavior.
