MIAMI – A warrant has been issued by Florida authorities for the apprehension of former NFL standout Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder linked to a shooting at a celebrity boxing event in May, as reported by the Washington Post.
The warrant, sanctioned by a judge on Wednesday, specifies a charge of attempted murder with a firearm and mandates that Brown, aged 36, must pay a $10,000 bond and comply with house arrest until the trial.
A spokesman for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office declined to comment, according to the report.

Brown, who lives in Fort Lauderdale, last played in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
The criminal charge stems from an incident outside a boxing event hosted by popular streamer Adin Ross in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami.
Brown was detained by police and released hours later.
Nonetheless, in line with the warrant, detectives from the Miami police subsequently obtained footage suggesting Brown engaged in physical altercations and seized the gun of a security personnel before purportedly advancing towards the individual he had assaulted, stated the Washington Post.
Brown played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010 to 2018, where he emerged as one of the NFL’s top receiving threats and twice led the league in receiving yards. His career took a downturn because of various on- and off-field issues, including his contract being voided by the Oakland Raiders before the start of the 2019 season.
He split his final three NFL seasons with New England and Tampa Bay, and his career ended with Brown stripping off his jersey, pads and gloves, while walking off the field during the Buccaneers’ 2021 regular-season finale against the New York Jets. Brown announced his retirement a few months later.
