BRIGHTON, Colo. — Two people were killed in a shooting in a Brighton neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The incident happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 100 block of North 7th Avenue.

The Brighton Police Department reported that they received a call and promptly arrived at the scene where they discovered two adults with gunshot wounds in the alley behind a residence. Unfortunately, both individuals did not survive and were pronounced dead on-site.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a dark-colored, older model sedan fleeing the area.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release the victims’ identities at a later time.

Law enforcement officials in Brighton have confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time. The authorities believe that this tragic event is contained and that there is no imminent danger to the community. The investigation into the matter is still underway, as they seek to gather more information about the incident.
