CLEVELAND — Tevin Smith scored 23 points as Cleveland State beat Detroit Mercy 65-50 on Wednesday night.
Smith also posted six rebounds and three steals for the Vikings (15-6, 9-1 Horizon League). Je’Shawn Stevenson tallied 13 points, shooting 4 of 9 from the field, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Dylan Arnett and Tahj Staveskie chipped in with eight points each. This victory marked the team’s 11th consecutive win.
For the Titans (6-15, 2-8), Orlando Lovejoy led the scoring with 14 points. Ryan Kalambay contributed 10 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks for Detroit Mercy. TJ Nadeau finished with seven points.
Cleveland State, which remains atop the Horizon League, will host Green Bay Saturday at the Wolstein Center.
