LONGWOOD, Fla. – Come and celebrate the strawberry season in Seminole County at the Longwood Strawberry Fest. This family-oriented event offers a variety of enjoyable activities, music, and delicious sweet treats at Reiter Park.
The festival on Saturday teases mouthwatering strawberry treats, from fresh-picked berries to decadent desserts, according to its website.
All ages are welcome, with activities including face painting, games and a kid’s zone for $5 per child.
A highlight of the event will be the Strawberry Eating Contest, a challenge to eat as many strawberry desserts as possible in 10 minutes.
The requirements for participation are as follows: Only individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to participate, limited to one member per family. Teams are not permitted, as the selection of the 10 contestants who will compete in the strawberry shortcake eating contest will be done by lottery. Contestants must keep their hands behind their backs at all times during the competition, and the use of hands is strictly prohibited.
Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. and the contest starts at 3 p.m. The contest is a time endurance test.
The festival will also feature live music, with the Sandy Back Porch Band from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., and the Kyle Ingram Trio from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
The event runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
