Timothy Edwards was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police in connection to two shootings that occurred last summer.
CLEVELAND — The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested 18-year-old Timothy Edwards Tuesday morning in Cleveland.Â
The Cleveland Division of Police wanted Edwards in connection to two shootings that occurred last summer.
Officials from the U.S. Marshals indicated that Edwards was found at a residence in the 2700 block of East 124th Street in Cleveland. During his apprehension, Edwards reportedly barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom, but eventually gave himself up to the authorities.
In addition to taking Edwards into custody, law enforcement recovered a handgun equipped with a switch device at the scene.
CASE DETAILSÂ
As per reports, the initial shooting involving Edwards occurred in the early hours of July 15, 2024, near East 9th Street and Bolivar Road in downtown Cleveland. The victim of this shooting was identified as a female, although no update on her condition was disclosed.
The subsequent shooting incident occurred on July 20, 2024, in the vicinity of Woodhill Road and Holton Avenue. This incident resulted in the death of Eric Grady, a 34-year-old individual.
3News previously reported that officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots fired in the area of Holton Avenue and Woodhill Road at around 6:50 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Grady dead.Â
