After being coaxed off the highway, the dog jumped right into Sergeant Brett Claxton’s cruiser. The pup has since been returned to its owner.
CANTON, Ohio — A close call on Interstate 77 last week had a heartwarming ending in Canton.
An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper noticed a dog wandering near passing traffic on the highway. Sergeant Brett Claxton took quick action, managing to lure the dog away from the road and into his patrol car, keeping it out of harm’s way.
“(T)he dog jumped right into the driver’s seat of the cruiser,” the highway patrol wrote on Facebook. “Maybe he’s ready to #JoinOSHP!”
The pup was unharmed and has since been returned to its owner.
